My creative journey began with the seeds of curiosity planted by my mom at a young age. She never allowed me, my siblings, or my friends to say “we’re bored!” As an art teacher, our home was always brimming with craft supplies and oddities that became my toolbox for inventive thinking.

This was the foundation that laid the groundwork for my education and career in the arts. I studied Graphic Communications in high school and found employment as a Graphic Designer in 2007 at just seventeen. A position I held for many years while going on to earn my bachelor’s degree for Communication in 2012.

I focused on my career in the visual arts, earning a position as a Production Artist in New York City in 2014. A position I still hold today, ten years later. It was at some point during this tenure when I rediscovered my love of following my own imagination and creating art for the sake of art itself.

Armed with a notebook of scribbled ideas I picked one to expand on. Initially writing by the seat of my pants, this little idea has become the basis of my debut science fiction novel. After seven years of success, failure, writer’s block, studying my favorite authors, imposter syndrome, and several bouts of wondering if I’d finally lost my marbles I’m currently in the editing phase of development. It finally feels like this book will see the light of day and I’m both tremendously excited and completely terrified.
